Keep it Interesting.
A good workout is essential to keeping fit—if you're able to get to the gym every day, you're doing something right. And while a daily gym routine is great and definitely helps keep you motivated, let's be honest, solely going to the gym every day can get boring. Don?t you agree?
Thankfully, there is a way to keep your workout from becoming old news. Fitness classes are becoming increasingly popular these days as they offer intense and targeted workouts at different levels of experience.
Thankfully, there is a way to keep your workout from becoming old news. Fitness classes are becoming increasingly popular these days as they offer intense and targeted workouts at different levels of experience.
Class: Indoor Cycling
About It: Indoor Cycling or spinning as it's referred is a full-body cardio workout that focuses on endurance, strength, intervals and high intensity. Classes are designed to engage the body and simulate situations like hill climbs and sprints, similar to riding a bike outdoors.
Why We Want To Try It: A high-energy experience, indoor cycling classes are normally led by a single instructor whose job is to inspire and coach you. A personalized playlist and a series of climbs and descents, spin classes not only challenge your mind but your body as well.
Class: Bikram Yoga
About It: Bikram yoga or hot yoga is practiced in a room heated to approximately 105°F. Each session runs for 90 minutes and consists of 26 postures. Participants are encouraged to wear as little and as lightweight clothing as possible because sweating begins pretty much immediately.
Why We Want To Try It: We love a challenge! While temperatures in hot yoga, are just that, the benefits are worth it. Not only will your muscles be warmer and more flexible, but you'll burn a lot of calories.
Class: Ballet Infused Workout
About It: A workout that fuses ballet and aerobics burns fat while sculpting muscles, builds strength and improves body tone. Ballet infused workouts combine principles of dance conditioning and interval training while working to improve coordination and endurance.
Why We Want To Try It: We at Danskin are obviously huge fans of dance, but unfortunately not all of us were gifted with such talents. However, with ballet infused workouts we can at least pretend! They allow you to work on your form and posture while also sculpting and carving lean muscles.
Class: Bootcamp
About It: Indoor and outdoor bootcamp classes are a high intensity workout that mix strength training with running intervals to tighten and tone your body. A full body workout, abs, legs and buttocks are also targeted.
Why We Want To Try It: Great music and in-your-face instructors keep the energy high and the intensity of the workout going. Interval and strength training provide that extra kick in the butt you need to really feel the burn!
Class: Pilates
About It: Pilates is a movement therapy focusing on the core and designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture. Exercises can be performed on a mat or on special equipment that relies on resistance from one's own body weight.
Why We Want To Try It: Pilates is a low-impact workout that forces you to pay attention to your body and its weaknesses. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture and balance while preventing injuries and decreasing stress on joints.
We're looking forward to giving all of these classes a try. Let us know if you plan to do the same! Connect with us on Facebook and Twitter to share your experiences!
