2008 DANSKIN WOMEN'S TRIATHLON SERIES
The Danskin Women's Triathlon Series is proud to announce that The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is its Official Charity. The Danskin Women's Triathlon Series will donate 5% of all entry fees received to this outstanding organization. In addition to this Corporate donation, 100% of funds raised by participants through the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series Pledge Program, will be directed to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and National Association of TEAM Survivor, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides free group exercise, health education classes and support programs for women who have a present or past diagnosis of cancer.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding innovative clinical and genetic research. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $200 million to support research at medical institutions conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will help lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime. In October, 2007, $32 million was awarded to 151 scientists across the United States and in Canada, Latin America, the Middle East, and throughout Europe. BCRF perseveres in directing at least 85 cents of every dollar raised directly to research. And for the sixth consecutive year, BCRF received Charity Navigator's highest rating, four stars, thus outperforming over 99% of more than 5,000 evaluated charities. The BCRF is the only breast cancer organization in the U.S. to receive this accolade. For more information about BCRF, visit www.bcrfcure.org or call 1.866.FIND.A.CURE.
Remember those who have battled breast cancer by filling in the name of your inspiration on "Racing in Honor of" cards available for free at the BCRF booth at each Race Expo.
