My 5-year-old has worn this shoe as long as she has taken dance class. While the drawstring does get loose, her dance teacher has her tuck the whole thing in so it does not matter. What I like best is how long the shoe lasts. She had her first pair for a long time! When she outgrew it, we bought it again.

The shoe works great but the draw string needs work it does not stay tied together most people are tying it them cutting it.

I bought these for my 2 year old daughter. From what I've read about them, you should buy a half size up - this is not true in my case. They are pretty nice shoes -well made, easily put on a 2 year old's foot. The one big con is that the little lace in the front is CONSTANTLY getting untied, even after a double knot. For a two year old learning to dance, that's a problem.
