My daughter is the dancer - I am the supporter/mother. She is 6 years old and has been dancing for the past 3 years. We live in Japan and have Chacott ballet goods available to purchase....however, the leaotards designed for children under 8 y.o. are "too cutesy" with lots of frills and attached tutus...also the colors are too bright for our liking. I prefer the muted colors and simpler designs of Danskin leotards. The cotton-spandex-nylon blend materials used are also great and feel comfortable. My daughter is in the phase where she doesn't like to wear pink and definitely will not wear frills and tutus - unless it is a recital. I remember when I used to take up ballet as a teenager, Danskin was the preferred supplier of our goods, and my search brought me back to Danskin.
