The following information is for your comfort and safety as well as for
the safety of the athletes participating in the Triathlon. Thank you in
advance for your compliance.
A triathlon race course uses open spaces and public thoroughfares; it is difficult to "close" a course measuring more than 15 miles.
As a result, it is important that spectators be aware of their environment and take
care not to interfere with the athletes and the race in progress.
• |
Do not distract the athletes' attention. |
• |
Obey all Race personnel, volunteers and police. |
• |
Stay off the race course. Pacing athletes is not permitted. |
• |
Stay behind fencing (both hard and soft), cones, flagging and
any other means of delineating areas that are "OFF LIMITS" to
spectators. Do NOT lean or push on fencing. |
• |
Use designated "crossovers" only when instructed to
do so. |
• |
Look both ways and behind you before crossing or changing direction. |
• |
Move in an orderly manner and at a normal pace. |
• |
CYCLISTS can travel at a high rate of speed. Spectators MUST yield
to racers in progress. |
• |
SPECTATORS and/or FAMILY MEMBERS are NOT permitted in the Transition Area. |
• |
If you happen to be in the front of a large spectator viewing area, please show consideration for those behind you by kneeling. |
• |
If you plan to watch your special athlete, know her race number, swim cap color, wave number, wave start time and estimated finish time. Take into account what time her swim wave will enter the water to calculate approx. finish time. |
• |
You may wish to familiarize yourself in advance with the course map posted online. Bring a plan for where (and approximately when) to meet your athlete after she has completed the Race. |
• |
Anticipate heavy traffic approaching the race site and parking area prior to Race start; leave plenty of time for parking and transit. Vehicular traffic in/around the race venue may be limited while the event is in progress. Be prepared to stay until the last athlete has completed the Bike course. |

There are plenty of garbage cans... PLEASE dispose of your trash in these. |
